Rival’s debut album Tales From the Bluesy Tomb has 12 diverse songs and 2 instrumentals. While most songs are comprised of the traditional two guitars, bass and drums combination, there is also the occasional keyboard part to look for. The group took it upon themselves to completely engineer and produce the album on their own. In January 2015 they began recording in their tiny jam space, the room dubbed "Bluesy Tomb". Tracking drums and vocals in the Bluesy Tomb was no small feat. Even a vocal booth out of an upturned couch had to be crafted. But eventually, recording was done and it was time to mix. Luckily the band’s bass player Adam was up to the challenge. The boys adopted a very democratic style of mixing, usually having everyone present while Adam manned the controls. The result is a true product of all four members. A truly dynamic and professional album that all members are proud to be a part of.
