In a genre belonging to crooners like Marvin Gaye, Curtis Mayfield, James Brown, and Otis Redding, authenticity is a requirement. Enter Anduze, a Los Angeles based soul singer whose vocal riffs evoke the retro sounds of the aforementioned artists, but reverently done his way – his own fresh brand, re-imagined and crafted into a modern depiction of the era. Anduze was raised on his father’s native land of St. Croix in the US Virgin Islands. From the age of 7, he was acting and singing in local theatre run musicals. His family was uprooted and forced to leave the island after Hurricane Hugo viciously destroyed their home in 1989. They would move to Atlanta, Georgia, coincidentally around the time the city acquired the nickname, “Motown of the South,” due to the wealth of artists flooding the industry, churned out by prominent labels such as LaFace Records, and So So Def Recordings. Anduze later moved to Orlando, Florida, where he played alongside the same musicians who toured as the backing band for pop music icons, N’sync. When he finally moved to Los Angeles in 2005, he carried with him the tools necessary for finding success in this age of “Do It Yourself” musicians. He’s a grass roots artist whose accolades are the direct result of his own persistence, and his fan base reflects that notion, often sharing his music with others while regarding him as their best-kept secret. 　　 　　The past few years, Anduze has focused on a rather special relationship with Austria’s most popular producer Marcus Füreder, aka Parov Stelar. Their first collaborations were ‘This Game’ and ‘Josephine’ on Parov Stelar's last two albums. Most recently, the two have teamed up as Stelartronic & Anduze en route to a proper full length album release. Their first single combines their musical influences to create a track full of pop appeal and house beats, fused with radio-friendly club sounds. ’When I Find My Love’ provides the perfect platform for Anduze’s unique voice, as the smooth melancholy of the track embraces his vocal tones and lets them resonate through the night.
