Pojat (pronounced: poh yaht; Finnish for "boys" or "sons") is a foreign way to say something mundane. In their debut LP, Michael B. Allen and John Churchill have done just that. A simple collection of melodies expressed in a form that has grown into maturity and become its own. 　　 　　The plan was to not have a plan and simply play. 　　 　　Allen and Churchill, shortly after moving to Austin, began sharing songs, discovering their complementary musical strengths. A year of writing together produced a cohesive, albeit unexpected, unit of songs, demanding to be made into a record. The album's instrumentation and style is as diverse as its mood, expressing numerous perspectives on the concept of home.
