简介: OKAY TODAY recording artists Amy & Adams fourth CD Dancing Through Time is another sumptuous musical journey and it lives up to the self chosen genre Eclectic/FolkRock/TinPan Alley/ BluesGrass. Like our first two it is filled with stunning original songs, sung superbly by Amy & Mark Adams-Westin with Mark’s sister Mary Adams melting her harmonies into the mix. Amy & Adams relied, again, on Steve Kuether (who helped produced our first, sail away) as recording and mixing engineer. We spent 2 wonderful weeks at his Panther Creek Recording studio tucked away in the lovely hills of Northern Arkansas. Steve also brings his genius and sensitivity on piano and Hammond B3. This time out Amy & Adams is joined by some real ringers. We borrowed Ryan Hurn from Andy Williams to play the drums and the man knows how to play a Christmas song. Rich Brown, also a fixture in the music scene in Branson, MO, is nothing short of thrilling on the bass. Often Amy would say to Mark “I know you love it but the bass is just too loud in the mix.” The day spent with the wonderful fiddler & mandolinist Tim Crouch in the studio will linger in our hearts and minds forever. We were fortunate that Tim wasn’t already busy that day at The Grand Ole Opry or with Vince Gill or Dolly Parton. To say we were enthralled is an understatement. Oh yes, and there are those songs. Four were penned by Amy and they’re all great, but we think that Welcome Home might just be sung around tables where families and loved ones gather together for a long time. Mark wrote six of the new tunes including what has all the makings of a new Christmas standard, Got A Candle In My Window. The journey begins with the Tin Pan Alleyesque This Day to the country folk Lovin’ And Dancin’ Thru Time, stops for rockers Hippie At Heart and I Keep Knocking, rests with the intimate and soulful Beartown and You’re Not Alone, and ends up with Amy, Mary, Mark and Tim gathered around one microphone for Johnny Mercer’s great WWII hit Dream. Dancing Through Time was recorded, mixed, and then mastered at Airshow Mastering to sound as if you could close your eyes, reach out and touch Amy & Mark, Mary, Steve, Ryan, Rich, and Tim. Whether it’s for your radio, iPod, car, PC or Mac, or your truly audiophile system, great sound still matters at OKAY TODAY RECORDS. There’s no tech tricks on Dancing Through Time, just great songs performed by top notch artists, it’s so old hat it’s fresh!
