The "End of the World" MaxiSingle is Grayscale's first EP-length release. Wanting to do something fresh after their sophomore album "Haunted Hours," the band was excited to put out two fresh mixes of End of the World, and two new tracks. "Whatever Happened to California? has been in our live set for a long time," says guitarist William Weaver. "We always played it as an acoustic track. It went through three or four versions before we got to what's on the MaxiSingle. Don't Ask Me to Stay is on the dreamier side. We were going for something that could have been at home on the Twin Peaks soundtrack back in the day. " 　　 　　In addition to the new tracks, the MaxiSingle features two new remixes of End of the World (originally released on the "Haunted Hours" LP), including a "stripped mix" showcasing singer Douglas Dunbar's vocal harmonies.
