To describe Nutty's eclectic "treatments" of classic rock tunes as cover songs is accurate, but an oversimplification. In any given Nutty tune, you might find layers of classic jazz, cocktail jazz, crime jazz, TV and movie themes or any other musical reference that makes sense (to them). 　　 　　Each tune might well be called a musical cocktail, as it mixes varied ingredients to come up with a final product that tastes sweet, goes down easy, but packs a musical wallop. Crime/spy jazz on the rocks! 　　 　　Pleasant Valley Monkday - Yes, Thelonious was the fifth Monkee, as evidenced here in this ‘Pre-fab Four’ tune chock full of Monk snippets. Straight, no chaser. 　　 　　Five Nights - Just when you think you‘re going to “Take Five”, you’re swept into “Nights In White Satin”. Moody Blues in 5/4 time, with a 3/4 variation on Joe Morello’s famed drum solo and a nutty poetic finish. 　　 　　Frankenmunster - It’s simple: “Frankenstein” meets the Munsters. And there are lyrics that Edgar Winter didn’t even know about. Put this one in a tumbler, then guzzle! 　　 　　Rumba With The Devil - From the Latin side of Nutty is this 2-song Van Halen medley, with a cha-cha beat and a little “Sway” to bridge the two numbers together, featuring a manic horn version of the intro guitar riff on “Ain’t Talkin’ ‘Bout Love” that’ll make you flip. Saucy, spicy and 150 proof! 　　 　　Same Old Song And Scat - This concoction is pure Aerosmith on bop, flaunting solos, trades and scattin’ at a madman’s pace. This one’s got the juice, and it’s shaken and stirred. 　　 　　Cinnamon Doll - Neil Young’s “Cinnamon Girl” all dolled up in Duke Ellington “Satin...”.
