简介: Although Trevon “Ivy” James was born in Seattle, Washington, his unique Pop –Hip-Hop infused sound was derived from his Southern roots. Raised primarily in Atlanta, Georgia, Ivy, not unlike many other southern artist, began singing in the church at the tender age of 6 yrs. old. It was in the church that Ivy was provided an opportunity to not only sing in front of the congregation, but to develop his vocals and his passion for performing. One can truly hear that his music and singing style was influenced by the Gospel and R&B sounds that he performed and grew up with as a young man.
By the age of 9, Ivy began playing multiple musical instruments, including both the bass and electric guitar and the drums. At 13 yrs. of age, Ivy, along with his older brother Gary “Jamm Lewis” James, formed the group, “The Brothers of Boulevard.” The group consisted of 3 sets of sibling brothers, between the ages of 13 and 17. The group immediately became a local favorite and as their popularity grew, they were soon traveling throughout the US and abroad performing. Unfortunately, with the demise of one of the group members in 2011, “The Brothers of Boulevard” disbanded and Ivy and his brother ventured out on their own. Now 16 yrs. old, Ivy began concentrating on developing his songwriting skills and music production, for himself and other artist. No longer traveling, Ivy was able to pursue some of his other interest ….acting and sports. Having caught the acting bug, he performed in several stage plays and also played on the basketball team at Peachtree Academy.
A true Renaissance Man, it wasn’t long before Ivy grabbed the attention of Dynasty Records. Under their leadership, Ivy continued to write, record and produce his original music while pursuing his acting, appearing on several television shows, including Vampire Dairies, Resurrection, Constantine and the Have & Have Nots. Ivy also appeared in a national print campaign for the clothing store H&M. In 2013, Ivy released a mixtape, “No Fear.” Although his relationship with Dynasty Records dissolved, his star has continued to shine.
Jaded Records, a diverse, boutique record label based in Atlanta, is now the home of one of the most unique artist to hit the scene since Prince –Trevon “Ivy” James. Since signing with Jaded Records, Ivy has been working diligently in the studio, preparing to release some new music in the fall of 2015. Owner Déon Herring states that “Ivy is the full package and a true performer. We are extremely excited to see what the future holds for him.”
