简介: Save My Life is an initiative to help save the lives of children impacted by AIDS in Africa. All proceeds will specifically go to provide care for children affected by this devastating disease. The cost to save a child's life in Africa through this AIDS initiative is 40 cents a day. The power of music is often realized through dramatic, culture-shaping manifestations. In 1985, Michael Jackson, Lionel Richie, and Quincy Jones had a vision. That vision made an impact that far exceeded their expectations. Intended to raise funds to help famine relief efforts in Ethiopia, "We Are the World" went on to win multiple Grammys. The song was on everyone’s lips, and the single sold more than 7.5 million copies. Most importantly, it raised $50 million for famine relief. Later that same year, an even larger number of world renowned artists, past and present, came together to perform for the "Live Aid" concert, also fighting the Ethiopian famine. In 2001, it was stated that their efforts resulted in an astounding $283.6 million raised. In 2006, the world is in need again, and we've turned to music to help get the message out... "I Say A Little Prayer For You" Natalie Cole has given her talent to this song to help raise awareness and donations to this very worthy cause. Through the not-for-profit organization, SAVEMYLIFE.org, a 501 (c) 3, we’ve recorded a new version of the Burt Bacharach/Hal David classic, "I Say a Little Prayer For You" with Natalie Cole. Mark Feist and Damon Sharp, who have worked with the likes of Destiny's Child, Kelly Rowland, Chante Moore, and Jennifer Lopez, produced the track. We are producing a music video of the song to memorialize this event, which will include celebrities, politicians (bi-partisan), dancers, pastors, and artists. Natalie Cole performs the song on an episode of Studio 60, airing February 5th, 2007. All of the proceeds will go to The Global Fund and World Vision to fight AIDS in Africa.
