简介: In the southwest city that is Albuquerque, New Mexico, a new voice is starting to catch the ear of the “Duke City.” Born Matthew Edward Bowdish, April 25, 1987, “Mateo Music” has encompassed the local hip hop and R&B scene for the last six years. Deciding he wanted to be a singer when he joined his high-school choir, Mateo has been singing since the age of 14 and doing so professionally since early 2006 when he teamed up with the local label PMG Entertainment. Now independent, he has teamed up with some of New Mexico’s finest labels such as The Arkiteks Music Group, 1706 Industries, Sunwrise Records, Fat Fish Records, Ain’t No Simpin’, G.F.T./Politica Records and D.I.E. Set; all creating a movement within the community. Mateo has also been featured on many shows and records with notable artists such as David Wade, Rappin' 4-Tay, NB Ryderz, Candyman, Lighter Shade of Brown, Twista, Baby Bash, DJ Quick, Spice 1, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, David Banner, Lil Flip, Rick Ross, E-40 and many more. Hearing his music on the radio is something many are familiar with as the song “Gangster Girl” in which he collaborated with LA’s Doll-E Girl got nationwide radio play and continues to do so on local stations.
Inspired by Boyz II Men’s “Cooley High Harmony” album, Craig David, Usher and R. Kelly, Mateo Music is sure to get you moving while being able to give you something romantic in transition. Mateo has adopted the motto “hard work pays off” and because of it, progression has been the outcome of this young man’s career. In succession with his commercial writing (having co-written a song with rapper Rampage), confidence, ambition and non-arrogant attitude, his talents (also playing guitar) and love of music, he is always sure to perform from the heart. Nominated for 2010’s New Mexico Hip Hop Music Awards “R&B Artist of the Year,” voted by the people as “2011 Southwest Vocalist of the Year,” it’s safe to say that you may want to familiarize yourselves with his face, music, skill and talent, because this R&B artist is going to take the industry by storm.
