简介: Tai Chi (real name Tychius Dequa Marti) was born August 1, 1981 in East St. Louis, Illinois. Raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan since three months of age he is the oldest of four children and started rapping at the age of six. He was entering talent shows by age 13 and was winning flawlessly. By the age of 16, he released his first album "Intro To 97 Raw Power Moves", which he received high praises for in many underground magazines. That same year Tai Chi blew away the crowd and the competition at the first Detroit Music Mecca, taking top honors with the likes of Eminem, Royal Flush, and other hip-hop heavy weights. He has done many shows that include the Biggie Smalls concert of '95 and the Wu-Tang Clan and Keith Murray Concert. He decided to take his talent to a bigger venue and Atlanta, GA offered him a lot more opportunity. Since moving, he has completed three full albums, mixed & mastered and six mixed tapes. TaiChi's style consists of a gutter feel with a very sharp wordplay, and a straight to the point conscientious look at what takes place in our surroundings, and throughout the world -in other words, the total package. This artist can keep it gangsta for the streets and at the same time make it appealing to audiences of all ages. He really knows what it takes to make a hit and offers many styles of communicating his message to the masses. This ever-changing style keeps him up with the times but the fire in his eyes continues to come out in his music. Originality is what he brings to the industry, something that has been missing for a while, but is always wanted by music lovers.
