简介: Heart of Texas Records is pleased to announce the release of “Justin Trevino Sings Johnny Bush.” This fourteen song CD is the first new studio album from Trevino in over three years. It is a tribute album to Trevino’s musical hero, Texas Country Music Hall of Famer Johnny Bush. “If I’m asked to name one artist who has influenced me more than any other as a singer and musician, the answer in invariably Johnny Bush,” Trevino said in his liner notes. “I was seven years old the first time I remember hearing Johnny Bush sing “Whiskey River”. That record sounded different to me than anything I had ever heard before. Johnny Bush would be indelibly etched in my consciousness from that day forward.” One of the highlights of the project is a tribute song, “One Night At A Johnny Bush Dance” that was composed by Trevino and Bent Horton. The song tells the story of Trevino sitting in a Texas Dance Hall listening to his hero and asking him to keep singing those great old songs. The song also references several of Bush’s recorded hits and features Bush at the end singing a chorus of “Whiskey River.” “I searched through the Johnny Bush catalog,” Trevino said. “I didn’t want to do a greatest hits album. I wanted to record some of the songs that had a direct influence on me growing up. I tried to pick thirteen songs that were association with John but not necessarily just those biggest records of his career.” The songs on “Justin Trevino Sings Johnny Bush” besides “One Night At A Johnny Bush Dance” include “Warmth of the Wine” “Conscience Turn Your Back” “You’ll Never Leave Me Completely” “When My Conscious Hurts The Most” “Cold, Cold Hands” “Tonight I’m Going Home To An Angel” “I Leaned Over Backwards For You” “It’s The Last Time I’ll Ever Cheat On You” “Texas Dance Hall Girl” “Lord Let A Lie Come True” and “Whiskey River.” Trevino stayed true to the original sound of the Bush compositions but added his very own unique style to each recording as well. The Texas Honky Tonk sound mixed with fiddle and steel guitar is highlighted throughout the album whether on a shuffle, waltz or ballad. This project truly makes you feel that you are sitting in a Texas dance hall setting listing to some of the finest music anywhere. The musicians include Jake Hooker on Upright Bass, Jim Loessberg on Steel Guitar and Drums, T. Bonta on Piano, Justin Trevino on Rhythm Guitar and Acoustic Guitar, Jade Jack on Fiddle, Charlie Walton on Lead Guitar and Justin Trevino and Dwayne Wavra on Harmony. “Justin Trevino Sings Johnny Bush” was recorded at the Heart of Texas Recording Studio in Brady , Texas and was produced by Justin Trevino and mastered by Nick Landis at Terra Nova Digital Audio in Austin. “I want to thank Johnny Bush for giving us a wealth of great Texas Dance Hall Music that will continue to inspire musicians and singers for generations to come,” Trevino said. “I hope that you enjoy my tribute to a ‘man whose music has made him a legend in Texas in his own time’, Texas’ own Johnny Bush!”
