简介: 'The height of your accomplishments will equal the depth of your convictions' -- William F. Scolavino "Funny how life goes ... the best things happen in our dreams, in our hearts, in our souls. We must create a mindset to live out everything our heart desires. We cannot let our apprehensions and anxieties rule our destiny. We say, do and see things in our dreams we assume we have not the courage or strength to carry out. So many accomplishments are attainable at any time, and at any age, as long as we are willing to see the result in our minds and know that perseverance will get us there. It should never be I wishrather I will it should never be What if instead It will be. I have heard it said, When our time on this earth is up, it will not be regretting what we did, it will be regretting what we didnt do and should have done. If you have a dream, follow it with every bit of stamina you can muster. This CD is dedicated to the total pursuit of a dream. Do not let it Always Be A Dream. Never give up." Juanita Born and raised in Vancouver British Columbia, Juanita grew up in a very musical family. Celebrations included singing together with the little ones getting up on chairs singing solo. Usually hymns learned in church. At 10, she began studying the Royal Conservatory of Music on the piano until the age of 16. Juanita excelled and flew through the program while also taking voice lessons for two years. Once she learned the basic rules of using her gift, she wanted to move on. Juanita spent her teenage years, writing, playing and singing. In high school Juanita sang at every event possible, and coming from a very public family, she sang wherever her family was requested to be. Writing political jingles, entering contests, telethons, she would try anything that would allow her to pursue her dream. At 16, Juanita was asked to join a top touring rock band as a featured keyboardist/vocalist. In order to do this, she attended night school so that she could graduate from high school early. Nervous, scared and being the only girl, she headed out on the road playing the venues ranging from 200 seat clubs to 2000 seat concert halls. This solidified her dream and set a life long passion in motion. Traveling and recording with this band for a good 8 years, she was exposed to almost every genre of music, and she developed her live performance skills. She also got heavily involved in the song writing side of the business with the band performing many of her original songs. She discovered that the best way to get your own ideas out was to listen to others, learn, and let everyones music be a part of hers. "You dont have to be hungry money wise to be successful but you do need to be driven. You do need to put all your energy into the walk, onto the path you want to take. People want to see the high energy on stage. They need to go home from a concert exhilarated, exhausted and fulfilledfeeling like they received their moneys worth. I believe performing your own songs or songs that mean something to you personally, produces true feeling from the gut. When there is emotion and feeling in your performance, people identify with that you are appealing to them, they feel you wrote these songs for their life." Juanita has pushed herself and her music to an entirely new level. She has perfected the exact approach to her music. The pure feeling of the music, the driving beats, combined with guitar based rhythms, audible lyrics, and captivating melodies grab the listener. The emotion is evident, the power is real. Her rule is to sing the song, not just the lines. That is the only way to capture the emotion. In the studio, lights down low, she sips on Kailua and cream, with a tall glass of water on hand, and special singers mints. "I want the rasp with the clear, and I spend the time to immerse myself in the music. I need the raw emotion, the grit and the power." At home In B.C. Juanitas fans are amazed by the intensity and incredible energy that is put forth. Whether there are 100 people or 1000. Her passion for her music is evident. Sitting behind the grand piano and belting out an emotional ballad, or commanding the stage with a high powered rocker, there is an obvious entity that takes over her being. "Sometimes I come off stage...and dont even remember what I have done...or the notes I hit...which I could never do in real life...what is that about?" Juanitas new album, 'Simple Charades ... Unintentional Disclosure', is about feelings masked deep within, and is disclosed easily through her music. "The songs come from within... exactly how I feel at that moment...I retire to my bedroom...every night after dinner...with a glass of wine... I turn the lights down low and just play....whatever my mood is...is the type of song that comes out...sometimes nothing...sometimes a recap or add on to the night before...works great for me." The best of the best were chosen to play on this album...and it took one year to finish. It shows. Here’s What People are Saying: “It’s such a pleasure to hear great song writing. Simple Charade is definitely a radio smash….along with Destination Nowhere and Goodbye. Any radio programmer will jump on this” Eddy Schreyer, Oasis Mastering, Burbank, CA (Christina Aguilera, Kanye West, Hootie & the Blowfish, Queen, etc.) “I am very impressed with the intensity of the songs...they’re all gems. It's so refreshing to hear a female vocalist that kicks.... I know KISS-FM will be all over it.” Duane Grandbois, KISS-FM “You have the drive and the sound of someone like Grace Slick…reminds me of some really good 80’s music...great” David Foster, Producer "Great grooves and memorable hooks….and all with so much soul!! Radio needs “Simple Charades” Dave Hayes aka Slagter, Engineer/Producer (Chilliwack, Headpins, Stampeders)
