简介: Emonesia by Earamas... Back Story What seems to be only a moment ago, we arrived by chance together at a bend in the road. From one path of bands, budgets, and contracts and the other of computers, commuters and dot com disputers, we stood together looking down both roads as far as the eye could see. Sorry to not travel both roads, we made a choice, went all in and caught a cowboy on the river. Was it fate or just chance that guided our path? Maybe a bit of both, but one might say that chance favors the prepared mind. As we look back and remember that bend in the road, we chose to take the road less traveled by, and that has made all the difference. Emonesia tells the story of that first path taken, and what we have learned along the way. But just as one path opens to another, there are more paths to explore just around the next bend. As many have learned, it's not the destination, but the journey that defines us - so relax and enjoy the ride for the best is yet to come . . . Credits Earamas™ is the songwriting duo of Gary Wayne Clark and Glen Dale Spreen. All music and vocals performed on Emonesia by Gary Wayne Clark and Glen Dale Spreen. Lyrics by Gary Wayne Clark Music by Gary Wayne Clark and Glen Dale Spreen Vocals by Gary Wayne Clark Production and Recording Engineering by Glen Dale Spreen and Gary Wayne Clark. Published by Gary Wayne Clark Emonesia by Earamas - the more you listen, the more you hear... *** A few random notes on the cuts from the Emonesia album - A Thousand Voices - Thoreau once said that the mass of men lead lives of quiet desperation. That can only be true if we do not raise our voice to be heard, regardless of who is listening. Stuart McIntire on lead Guitar, man that guy can wail. Stuart, where are you now? Night Stalker was written along with a script by Tom Hubbell to pitch a TV show called Midnight Caller. Episode setup - The Nighthawk tangles with a creepy dream killer that stalks a troubled girl in her sleep, with a Bonnie Rait style vocal background. Unfortunately, Midnight Caller ran 61 episodes but was cancelled before the contract for this episode got finalized, so the Night Stalker is still walking the streets at night humming this uncut episode version of the song . . . if you are listening to this song, just don't go to sleep. Somewhere in Time was one of the first songs Glen and I worked on together, and marked our decision to focus on this material. Time travel was the inspiration, and the question of what happens when we die. It was the last song that my sister Joy would ever hear, but I know she is listening today. Phantom was written for the one that almost got away. I finally understood that he who hesitates is lost, and no, she didn't get away. Lonely With Someone You Love, we originally cut as a motown feel. This song was later recorded by Tommie Lee Jackson on her country album Looking for a Friend. We felt honored to have this song included on Tommie's album along with 3 Grammy Award winning songwriters (such as Wayne Carson, who wrote The Letter and Always on My Mind - a big hit for Willie Nelson). We cut Secret Lover with a number of singers looking for the right home for this song. This is the original version and features some gentle guitar work by the legendary Bill Murrell, who stopped by the studio one day. We drifted apart over the years, and it was to be the only cut that we ever recored together. Never be Alone Again was one of those songs that just came together, so I locked myself in the studio one weekend and put down this acoustic demo version. We may release a full orchestral version on a future project. Instruments: Keyboards - Glen Dale Spreen and Gary Wayne Clark, Bass Guitar - Gary Wayne Clark, Lead Guitar - Gary Wayne Clark, Bill Murrell and Stuart McIntire, Drums - Glen Dale Spreen and Gary Wayne Clark Gary Wayne Clark - Lyrics, Bass Guitar, Vocals, Keyboards At 15, Gary Wayne Clark joined Silas, a hard working rock band touring the east coast concert circuit. Known predominately as "one of North Carolina's loudest bands", Silas performed as the opening act for outdoor rock shows, and warmed up the dirt track crowds before local sprint car races. To work his way through college, Clark played bass and sang for a band called Odin, the regular band at the Doubtful Choice lounge at the local Ramada Inn by the airport. A young band’s dream - rent money plus a third set every night of original material for the local crowd. Clark later went on to build several engineering companies. It was here that a chance encounter brought Clark and Spreen together, and that grew from an initial performance to a musical collaboration that created the material for the Emonesia album. Glen Dale Spreen - Music, Keyboards, Drums, Production Glen Dale Spreen has over 100 credited performances as an arranger, producer, conductor and musician for many top artists. In one notable role, Glen arranged 3 songs that helped Elvis make his legendary comeback - Kentucky Rain, Suspicious Minds, and In the Ghetto. In addition to Elvis, some of the artists Glen has worked with include Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, B.J. Thomas, Dan Fogelberg, Wayne Carson, Dave Loggins, Jose Feliciano, Johnny Mathis, John Hiatt and the Flying Burrito Brothers just to name a few. You can Google Glen Spreen for a full Discography! Thanks to John and Brian at Instrumental Music for getting us up and running, Wayne Carson for the kind encouragement and Jillaine for the inspiration. Special thanks to my partner and friend, Glen Dale Spreen - one of the most talented music minds I have ever met. Based on the number of gold records on his wall, the music world seems to agree. Little did we know that day at Blue Cross when we met that the road of life would take this turn. Thanks for showing me the ropes. And now, Ali and Justin, the ball's in your court. You are both talented and have special, unique voices... don't worry who is listening, just follow your heart. *** So what is in a name? Our trademarked name, Earamas, is a word we made up to suggest to the listener that "the more you listen, the more you hear". If you close your ears to the world around you and redirect your musical perception inward, new possibilities can awaken. We strive to tell stories with our music and songs that allow people to discover what the music may mean for each of you. We hope our musical message resonates with you as you walk your own path in life. Earamas is the duo of Gary Wayne Clark and Glen Dale Spreen, working together from the mountains of Colorado and the Hill country of Texas. Thanks for listening! Peace, Gary Wayne Clark
