From Tupelo, Mississippi serving up the best in Blues, Southern Rock and Traditional Country ( Down South Music ). 　　 　　Influences - A little bit of Jimmie Rodgers, Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters, George Jones, Lightnin Hopkins, Chuck Berry and Elvis 　　 　　Blues Veteran James Pirkle is known around Mississippi as 　　 the Rev. James Pirkle fronting his own blues band and performing with many other artists on Harmonica, Vocals and Lead Guitar. He also spent many years touring and performing with country show bands such as Speck Rhodes. With Down South he's the lead guitarist, harmonica player and vocalist. 　　 　　Kenneth Ray West is an award winning songwriter who performs with the group on guitar and vocals. He previously was the front person for West Coast band TakeWest based out of the San Francisco Bay Area, performing all over the country and in the Philippines. He also worked with Oklahoma country, singer songwriter Dusty Burke at Sound Emporium in Nashville, TN and Conrad Pierce (Back on My Mind). Ray also performed with Nashville Recording Artist Tim Murphy (Bottom of the Fifth). 　　 　　Brian West is the keyboardist and bassist for the group. He's worked with artists such as Dave Mathews, Ronnie Montrose, Al Wilson, The Drifters, Johnny Gunn, Jackson Stone Band, Fryed Brothers, Crossman Connection, Bell Brothers, Dusty Burke, Tim Murphy and studio work world wide from Nashville, LA, SF to Tokyo and the Philippines. Some of the venues he’s performed at include the Avalon Theater, Hollywood, The New Music Awards, Konocti Harbor Resort, ARCO Arena, Sacramento, Del Mar Beach, San Diego 4th July Fest, Santa Cruz Board Walk, The Atlantis, Reno, Nugget, Sparks, Terrible’s Casino, Osceola, IA and the Monroe Convention Center, Monroe Louisiana. 　　 　　Derrick Bogan is the group’s drummer. He’s an amazing musician and one of the top drummers from North Mississippi. He plays Risen Drums and is endorsed by Silverfox Drum Sticks. Influences of Derrick include Dennis Chambers and Buddy Rich.
