简介: Dragana is a talented, sensitive singer with a unique voice, name and presence. She was born in Belgrade, former Yugoslavia, where her interest in music was realized at the  early age of four. When she was eight, her family moved to Novi Sad where she studied music at the University of Art. She graduated and received her Degree in Composition in 1993.  Her compositions have been performed in Novi Sad, Sarajevo and Moscow. While studying at the University, she started performing in various jazz clubs in Novi Sad and Belgrade. Soon, she received recognition amongst local jazz musicians and started performing at jazz venus and working with a jazz big band in Novi Sad and Belgrade. She appeared as a guest artist on numerous TV shows in Yugoslavia. Her regular performance as a jazz singer and training at the University of Art, majoring in composition, not only helped her develop into an accomplished musician, but prepared her for her move to the United States where she has been living and working successfully in Los Angeles, since spring of 1994. In 1994, Dragana attended the Musician's Vocal Institute of Technology in Hollywood and won the "Outstanding Vocalist" award, sponsored by SHURE Microphones. Since 1995, she has performed with various artists and well known jazz musicians in Los Angeles area including Howlett Smith (pianist, songwriter), Daniel May (renowned music composer, producer, arranger, pianist) and many others. In May of 2002, Dragana released her first album "I Still Feel You," compelling blend of original melodies and a warm, soothing voice, captured through weaving stories of her personal journey. Although she plays piano and speaks several languages, it is that special trace of Slavic accent that makes her singing style appealing and unique.
