简介: When one strolls down the memory lanes of history, one thing rings true about every great person that ever made a mark in his or her chosen field. The pure ability possessed by the individual, fueled by the passion to achieve and influence others is an unconquerable force. Urban R&B/Soul singer/songwriter/producer SiraaJ is one of those undeniably talented artists that epitomizes that force. "I am just one of those people that believes you should never become complacent with the talents the creator has blessed you with."
SiraaJ's latest exploit, Comin' Home, is a dramatic visitation through a range of R&B styles. From horns sprinkled with Latin flavor, to mellow emotion laden guitars, Comin' Home is a veritable collage of R&B stylings. "The concept of the project is based on the fact that everything must return to it's roots. I live in and love Chicago but Jackson, MS is where my roots are and that will never change. The same with urban R&B/Soul music, it is in a new place and new time but eventually it's going to come home and Comin' Home is my way of preparing the world for that transition. There is no rock, no pop or anything like that. This is straight up Urban R&B/Soul. Nothing more and nothing less."
SiraaJ is such an expressive and enthusiastic vocalist and songwriter. Every track on this innovative project is a reminder of that fact. The first track on the cd "The Rhythm" sets the tone using aggressive percussion and a chorus reminiscent of a late 90's party anthem. The track fades into the instant party hit "Club Joint". Comin' Home hits hard and just leaves you listening for the next surprise. "Each element of Urban culture is embraced and visited on this project. I felt that everything that we had, and everything that we have picked up along the way, was an important element in the development of our lives, culture and our music. Urban R&B/Soul is the story of a people whose voices were often quieted by the hustle and bustle of everyday life, and to remember that and stick to that theme was a very important aspect of this cd." SiraaJ's unique delivery is apparent in songs like the saucy Latin flavored up tempo jam "Tomorrow" and the quiet storm ballad "Love You Down". His style reminds you of some of the past and present crooners like Donny Hathaway, Carl Thomas, Ronnie Dyson, and Glenn Lewis but he is definitely an artist is his own right.
SiraaJ's partner and drive behind the lyrics is producer Amir Malik. "Amir is the kind of brother that will talk to you until you fall asleep and will then get up and go to the studio to work in the middle of the night. Not only that, he will still be in the studio working when you get there the next morning." (laughing) SiraaJ and Amir met one night at a music store in Jackson. SiraaJ was looking for a producer to work on a project with and had been frustrated in his search. Amir had known of SiraaJ through a group he had been performing with. When the group split SiraaJ knew that this could not be the end so he set out to work on his own. Seeing his desire, Amir felt that this could be the kind of artist he needed to get his production house destined muzik out into the public. He eventually arranged a meeting with SiraaJ and the rest as Amir says "will be history." "What people don't know about SiraaJ is that he is an animal when it comes to his music and making improvements. He is serious about the creative process and respects others creativity to the utmost."
AIG Music Worldwide CEO Bayyinah Taqwa says "Comin' Home is registering a ten on the Richter scale. What can I say about SiraaJ? I guess WOW! would be the correct sentiment. Which would be an acronym for Watch Out World." Stephanie Cheers, creative consultant for AIG Music Worldwide, says. "SiraaJ is such an insightful artist. He always knows in what direction he wants to go. He has so much ability and he is a joy to work with. He is going pave the way for a brand new era of great music."
