简介: I guess I should tell you about myself. This is painful and I feel kind of stupid and narcissistic, but here it goes:
I have been writing and playing music since the age of 7 (I'm just a tad over 8 now...plus 40 years, but who's counting?). My first group was the underground underground underground L.A. group, Hear Now (1973-1990). Did I tell that we were underground? We were so underground that even some close friends, relatives and band members did not know of us. The past decade plus I have been pursuing a solo career at an incredibly slow rate, worthy of any good snail.
I hate describing what my music is, because I don't know how to describe it. All I can tell you is that my biggest influences are the great artists/groups of the nineteen sixties through the early nineteen seventies, baroque, classical, romantic and some modern chamber and symphonic music, both Mississippi Delta and Chicago (electric) blues (especially that of the late 1940's through mid 1950's--in my book, the REAL rock and roll music) as well as folk music old and new of both the USA and Britain as well as good country music (mostly pre-1980's).
Much of my music is played entirely by me, but I disdain most uses of synthesizers, drum machines and click tracks. Most everything you hear of mine came from a real instrument that was either miked or amplified through a pick-up (I guess you could call it old school). I have no aim other than to try to do my part to lift us as much as possible out of this cultural quagmire that has infected us for the past 30 years*.
*{I don't mind telling you that I am very opinionated. I hope you enjoy my music, and if you do, tell a friend, and if you don't, well, how about those Dodgers.....}
