I write songs on subjects that inspire me, ranging from social issues to quirky romantic relationships. I recorded this song singing and playing synthesizer and guitar. Bass guitar and additional keyboards are played by Bailey Fernandez. Drums are played by Harris K. "Reconsider" is track #10 on my band Dark Matter's sophomore album, The Industry, a concept album about the corruption of the modern music industry. It tells the story of a small-time musician, the Idol, who gets offered a record contract by famed producer Stan Leech. From that point on, it follows the Idol's rise and fall as a pop star. At this point in the story, the Idol is beginning to get incredibly tired of the music business and is on the verge of snapping, considering it "meaningless" and saying that he gives Leech everything and doesn't get anything in return.
