简介: Wayne Davis began his music career in the New Zealand Airforce in the 1960's. Possessed with a powerful, soul laden voice, he was soon fronting local Pop/Rock bands and making a name for himself on the circuit. The military career soon became a thing of the past and Wayne was on his way to a completely different life along with countless other aspiring musicians of that period.
At the same time, he was experimenting with songwriting and it immediately became apparent he had a "way" with words. "Bosun Porter" and a few other songs came out of this early period and soon other musicians who heard the songs realised that here was a talent to be reckoned with. Over the years, Wayne built up a small collection of songs he had written but somehow, he never got around to entering a studio and recording them. Then all the usual things with life generally got in the way and time slipped by quickly until recently when I got in touch and suggested that Wayne, come into my small studio and finally record those songs.
This collection of songs bear testament to a life well lived, diverse subjects from his deep affection for his kids, observations on political unfairness, motorbike gangs and the stupidity of War. Observations from a keen eye that doesn't miss much and then sings like a bird to get the message across. Davis the singer has finally put his talent on record for everyone to enjoy.
