"Sophomore Slump" is comprised of songs whose meanings repaint DB's sophomore year of college. The music is not only representative of his internal state throughout the year, but also his musical transformation. It begins with DB's acoustic roots, transitions to his interest in R&B, and resolves with a combination of the both.
