With blues roots in Chicago and Texas, bluesman Paul Taylor likes his blues soulful. "My blues songs aren't about being down and out. My songs are about survival and having a good time." Streak Of Bad Luck, the title track, is not about losing everything, it is a song about winning in spite of the odds. Taylor's first track on the project, "That's Alright," has a similar theme. According to Taylor, "That's Alright, is a song about finding someone new after a broken relationship. Sometimes the blues is about making a comeback." 　　Paul Taylor wrote, produced, and engineered this project himself. He invited some very talented guitarist to feature on the tracks. Clay Jarvis laid down the guitar tracks on "Steak Of Bad Luck." Alex Trujillo performed on all other tracks.
