简介: Cooper is a Canadian singer/songwriter from Guelph, Ontario. His debut album "Evening Shadows" released in the spring of 2016 was co-produced by Nick Zubeck, the current touring guitarist for Sun Kil Moon and Royal Wood. The album features Cooper's extraordinary vocal range performed in an effortlessly full voice, complimented brilliantly with the tones of NZ's lead guitar, keyboards, and bass. The songs have a rather haunting and majestic quality to them, replete with vocal harmonies on every track. They ebb and flow from the opening "Silent Touch", where the timbres of Johnny Cash can be heard resonating with the Moody Blues, to the soaring harmonies in the finale "Line of Sight".
This production of layered vocals, and dreamy tones could easily be categorized in the psychedelic genre with the likes of Tame Impala or Radiohead, but is a very easy listen for those who enjoy Chris Isaac or Coldplay. Each song could conceivably land in disparate movie soundtracks holding its own, with such distinctly radiant, melodic hooks in all; surprising diversity for a debut album. The songs are mostly about the journey, in search of an evasive truth, or love, with or without the one who is loved. The passionate delivery of these songs will quite likely take you to the in-roads you would very much like to stay.
