‘La Sortie’ is the second studio album of Melbourne based outfit Lo-Res, and the third release by composer Belinda Woods. Tracks on the album traverse many sonic landscapes and showcase the strength and individuality of Belinda’s compositional voice. Belinda’s music is “lyrical, reflective, and impulsive” (jazzplanet.com), and brings together diverse and numerous compositional elements ranging from Free Jazz to structural forms incorporating interviewing melodic phrases and tableaus of colour and texture. 　　 　　Lo-Res showcases and celebrates the distinctive sounds of six talented musicians, melding together the genres of Jazz, Minimalism, Folk and Rock to create a sound that is unique and versatile.
