简介: Hip Hop is crying out for a savior and P-GUTTA has arrived to put an end to the madness of the East Coast rap scene that’s highly saturated by the club targeted, pop chart and ring tone styled music of the South. PGUTTA, born Lamar Pitts, carries a balance of smoothness & toughness while spitting out the lyrics to his debut album, “Failure’s Not An Option.” The album title implies that he doesn’t plan to give up until he makes it and the lyrics that he delivers clearly states that he’s confident in making a name for himself in this industry. He describes himself as the Poster Child of what a rapper can be if he sticks to his plan, so if rapping is part of his plan, he’s headed in the right direction. As a child, P-GUTTA possessed excellent grammar & vocabulary skills, thus making it easy to pen vivid lyrics about life growing up in the inner city of Maryland’s capital-Annapolis. Known for the Naval Academy, boat shows and downtown shopping boutiques, Annapolis has now become a place where outsiders who visit want to make it home. This historic town, one of the most desired places where people want to move for peaceful living is not the place where P-GUTTA was raised. Growing up, he became accustomed to the sounds of guns firing and the sight of gun ridden, drug infested housing projects. His side of town nicknamed “Aclapolis” was known for the many lives taken on the mean streets where PGUTTA resides and where he gained the name, P-GUTTA, which stands for “Pitts from the Gutta”. By the age of 14, PGUTTA began honing his skills for rapping. Surrounded by negative influences, it allowed him to make a name for himself in the streets by recording karaoke tapes and rapping over industry instrumentals. The streets embraced his music for the incredible mic skills, wittiness and authenticity of his lyrics. Now, at the age of 24, P-GUTTA has made a lasting impression on numerous indie labels in the Maryland area. Radio appearances (92Q), live performance (The New York Music Festival-Madison Square Garden), and a variety of album cameos (Mullyman’s “Mully Mania”, and S.M.U.V.’s “Grown Man” are just a few opportunities where P-GUTTA has displayed his talents. Since 2001, he’s released four (4) mixtapes that have sold extremely well and helped establish a strong fan base for his music. In 2006, P-GUTTA was introduced to Ron “BO” Ward, 1/3rd CEO of the production company, “Nuttin But Bangas (NBB)” and Cedric “BYGZ” Benning, CEO of Byg Thyngz Entertainment. Their partnership with P-GUTTA has prepared him to take his career to the level of super stardom in the hip hop game. His debut album, “Failure’s Not An Option” is already deemed a masterpiece and will be the sole reason why he will be a record labels dream, a savior to the hip hop community and a force to be reckoned with in the music industry.
