I dreamed about my desire to create vocal groups in hopes of not simply entertaining people, but to also have this collective be a positive force in our great city. I love how difficult times often bring strangers together. On that particular day, I found myself having dinner and a wonderful time with a woman whom I can only imagine was an angel, and I confided my vision to her. She brainstormed with me and as a result, “I S.M.I.L.E. in New York Productions” was born. It is an acronym for “Shine My Inner Light Everywhere”. The following year, I formed the company with a single quartet of carolers. As we now embark on our 20th holiday season, bringing Christmas and Hanukah cheer to NYC and beyond, we have grown to a group of over 25 seasoned and spirited performers singing primarily in trios and quartets. One of the reasons it took me so long to record a CD was because I couldn’t choose only 4 individuals among these gifted, generous, shining people I cherish and for whom I feel so very grateful. Therefore, I decided to share how we present  ourselves when singing together as “The Fabulous Fezziwigs”, “The Broadway CAREolers” and “The I S.M.I.L.E. in NY Carolers”. Our clients don’t choose which singers will appear. They trust that we will be fabulous, with beautiful voices and fun personalities that invite all around us to join in the fun and sentiment of the season. On this CD, you will hear, in addition to soloists, various combinations of voices ranging from trios and quartets to a full chorus. At any given event, the spotlight will be taken by any number of us. Therefore, I have not named individuals, but rather, have credited every caroler who was available to join us in this recording. They are all wonderful, and it is an honor and a privilege to carol with them year after year! There were some who, unfortunately, could not join us for this recording. However, their spirit is present on this recording, because it is our rehearsing and working together through the years which has shaped our spirit and sound. I hope you enjoy our music.
