Michael Phillips is a “jack of all trades”. Notable musicianship ran in the family, so it was no surprise to his father, a well-known and accomplished musician himself, that upon the conclusion of his 6 year old son's first piano lesson (which was a mere hour long), the tutor claimed to never have had a pupil with such accelerated learning abilities in her 35+ years teaching piano. His father groomed Michael and his two sisters' musical talents, and spent a great deal of time and money in reinforcing their strengths, and fortifying their weaknesses, and after a decade of practicing, went on to record a gospel music record which sold quite well and was noted throughout the area surrounding their home, in the rural flatlands of Rayville, La. Michael went on to earn many licenses and certifications in electrical, satellite, telecommunications, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical repairs, etc., etc. This led to his employment with drilling contractors which included his travelling the world for work. 　　 　　This worldwide travelling has allowed influences from various different cultures to expand his musical landscapes, experience more stimuli than most musicians, and expand the musical horizons that he can tease your mind's eye into experiencing. From his moving piano ballads that sound as if has manipulated the piano in such a way that it cries to itself at the painfully beautiful sounds it casts to those fortunate enough to be within earshot, and the scorching, harmonic runs, that sound as if they will set the ivory on fire and burn down the studio. There is great variance in his work, and decades of playing have produced a well-rounded player with metronomic-like timing, sweeping melodies, and groovy funk jams from days' long past. He has entertained masses in a variety of settings including weddings, corporate festivals, music festivals, and a particular point of pride, a nursing home that he plays at every Monday night when not on his offshore rotation with his neighbor. He is very much loved and anticipated by the residents and employees alike. The fact he seems to know every song and the comedy routine he and his neighbor do between songs has earned them a spot in every resident’s heart. 　　 　　 It is rare or even unheard of to hear of someone donating their time on given, set schedule, and to do so for years without one missed time. It is rare that a musician of such caliber comes along with such beautiful compositions and one would only be denying themselves pure bliss by not listening to the sonic landscapes painted by Michael’s nimble fingers.
