On this album, the work is realized on acoustic guitar by composer Elliott Sharp using a set of "alternate bows" fashioned from wood, metal, stone, objects, and the re-purposing of various tools to reveal sounds and structures inherent in the materials. Sharp’s recording reveals a hyper-real approach to sound. One is immersed in the tactility of the materials. It’s hard to believe that these sounds were all produced on an acoustic guitar with no electronic effects.
