简介: Souf Kak's Premier DJ, Charlamagn tha God (Hot 103.9) Review's Likwuid Stylez Southern Belle: "Let me say one thing before I get into this review, Likwid Stylez is d**e. In an industry that is oversaturated with Sex, Money, and Drugs. Likwuid delivers a sophomore LP that is filled with Beats, Rhymes, and Life. Standout cuts include Rebel Song which is a testament on wax. I can see a gospel choir singing in the background while Likwuid stands at the pulpit rapping her verse with the conviction of a pastor giving a Sunday Morning Sermon. Another tough record is Trouble whoever Likwuid is getting at on this record does not want know problems, I'd be hurt if a female told me I was filled with estrogen! Heiroglyphics is another banger featuring one of the most slept on MC's in the game right now Hannibal, you Laffy Taffy Lovers might not like this record because it forces you do to something most music nowadays doesn't..... think. Overall Southern Belle is a very solid LP by South Carolina's own Likwid Stylez-11 songs of pure Hip Hop delivered by a young women who when she raps you can hear her love for the music in her voice. Support a sister whose letting her mind and soul and not her body dictate her destiny." Hot 103.9's Charlamagne tha God (www.cthagod.com) Likwuid's Bio Abstract: Hip hop has gone from MC Lyte and Queen Latifah; talented female representatives of the art, to fashion-crazed, money hungry eye candy female emcee imposters. All hope for returning the dignity that Lyte and Queen worked so hard to uphold seems impossible; or so we have been led to believe...until now. Full Bio: Most recently selected by DiscMakers/Taxi Independent Music World Series as one of the TOP 14 ARTISTS in the Southeast, Likwuid Stylez' presence as a lyricist is a slap in the face to any critics that believe the female emcee no longer exists. Becoming only the second female to champion the noteworthy End of the Weak Emcee Challenge (#29), Likwuid continues to study her craft and build on positive energy through learning the essence of hip hop. From the University of Alabama-Birmingham to Club Pyramids in the heart of Manhattan, Likwuid has performed up and down the east coast. (Ill Fest-Atlanta, GA, Sottile Theater-Charleston, SC, Columbia Record Pool, Cola, SC: just to name a few.) Likwuid has shared the stage with artists such as Jahiem, Isis, and TruthHurts. Likwuidation: The 5th Element (2003), Tha Throwbac EP (2004), the Attention All A&Rs Mixtape (2005), and most recently the Southern Belle LP, are just a few of the projects that Likwuid has released as an independent artist. Beyond becoming the 2004 Power 94.3 Freestyle Battle Champion, the College of Charleston's Battle of the Mic Runner-up, and Power 94.3 Charleston Idol, Likwuid has also performed at the official "post social gathering" for the supporters of Presidential Democratic Candidate Howard Dean in Charleston, SC, during the 2004 election. Likwuid Stylez will soon begin working on her third album, Likwuidity, but she is keeping the details as underground as a fallout hide-a-way. She attributes her drive and success to her faith in God, support from her family, and the love that she has for hip hop. "As long as I can breathe, I will speak; as long as I can think, I will teach. The power of one voice is far greater than that of any fist, knife, gun, or malicious weapon. The greatest man that walked this earth only used two tools that changed the world forever: love and a voice. I pray that I can do the same." Quotes: Described by some as a "throwback emcee," Likwuid has been proclaimed one of South Carolina's illest lyricists-period...male or female For more on Likwuid or Sweatbox Entertainment see: www.sweatboxinc.com
