简介:  LIFT is a high-energy, original power-pop band formed in 2012 in Nelson.      Alan Kirk-Guitar and Vocals   Kevin Armstrong-Bass and Vocals   Matt Steedman-Drums      The seeds of LIFT were planted in 2006 when guitarist/vocalist Alan Kirk and bassist/vocalist Kevin Armstrong toured Germany as “The Alternators”. Upon Kevin’s return to Canada, they joined forces with drummer Matt Steedman and became LIFT.      Alan Kirk has been a staple of the Nelson music scene for over a decade. He has 3 solo albums to his credit, and has played many of the BC Interior’s most important venues and festivals, including the Nakusp Music Festival. His song “Hungry” was placed in a national ad for Red Lobster.      Kevin Armstrong has enjoyed a diverse career as a singer and multi-instrumentalist. He has won praise for his recent opera-rock show “Opera for Heathens”, which has played on tour and at Fringe Festivals in Toronto Vancouver and Edmonton. He also recently starred in and directed 'Jesus Christ Superstar' and 'Rent' in Nelson.      Matt Steedman has laid down the beat with “Pure Blend”, and is best-known for playing with iconic Kootenay Band “The Tuques”. His drumming talent is the foundation for the musical explorations and instrument-switching antics of his bandmates.      LIFT’s music is energetic, catchy, danceable power-pop, with copious doses of blues and rock. The band have already impressed at some of the Kootenays' best music venues, and headlined a 6-hour New Year’s show that rocked in 2013.
