简介: Why? Lifelike was formed with the intent of performing and recording a thirteen song concept album written by singer-songwriter Brandon Harvey. Who? Brandon partnered with brother in law Dan Vasquez who in turn brought in longtime friend Steve Nawrocki. Who Does What? Brandon writes and arranges the songs, plays lead guitar and sings the lead vocals. Dan plays drums and guitar, and together Brandon and Dan produce the recordings. Steve plays the bass. Raj Soni has joined the live band on guitar and percussion. What Happened? In the course of rehearsing and performing, Lifelike added some of Brandon's new and old songs to their set list. Lifelike's first release, the eleven song CD, LIFELIKE, was a mix of six concept songs, four new songs and two older songs. The disc was a straight ahead pop-rock record, with a focus on the electric guitar and vocal hooks. After releasing the first CD, Lifelike's sound evolved over the next year through a series of club shows and acoustic performances. The New CD: Lifelike's new fourteen song CD, Lu Lu, while still a pop-rock record, paints it's songs with a more varied palette. Included in the mix are acoustic and slide guitars, keyboards and samples. Rock and jazz drummer Jess Birch was brought in with his vintage mics and drumkits to add another dimension to the sound. Keys to the Concept: Eleven of the original thirteen songs from the planned concept record that spawned Lifelike are included on the two CD's. The two missing songs are not crucial to the story line. If you would like to piece the story together here are the songs in order. 1. Hard Times 2. One More Time 3. Tonight Life 4. Michigan Avenue Blue 5. No Second Chance Girl 6. Bliss 7. Heather and Lloyd 8. Thin Line 9. Remember the Good Times 10. Queen of Them All 11. Dear Drunk Love
