简介: The life journey of Christopher M. Campbell began in 1973 in Kingston, Jamaica. Christopher was raised on his grandparent’s Westmoreland farm and dubbed Lightning by friends for his quickness.
Artistic in spirit, inspired by nature and life, Lightning was composing songs at the age of 12, while toiling on the farm and sang them a capella with birds providing harmony. Consumed by the dream of recording his music and performing it around the world, yet lacking essential resources to fulfill it, Lightning persevered through numerous struggles~determined to succeed.
Lightning’s musical education came naturally, as he frequented reggae shows pursuing his passion, studying top performing artists. Often chanting his lyrics to their music. When invited on stage, Lightning struck audiences with his ‘stylee’. Listening to this cd the influence of such reggae greats as Bob Marley, Sizzla, Buju Banton and Peter Tosh can be felt yet Lightning is a roots and culture original.
He further developed his music through years spent working as a wood carver. To Negril’s gently lapping ocean waves, Lightning chanted his songs as he transformed pieces of ordinary wood into treasured sculptures destined for all global regions, delighting tourists and locals.
Sol Chica is one visitor who was instantly struck by Lightning, she became his producer/manager and began recording and arranging his songs. With the help of 2005 and 2006 GRAMMY finalist Amo (ah-moe) Chip Dabney, a highly gifted genre spanning, multi-instrumentalist who performed all of the instruments. His sweet saxophones capture the listener's heart. The keyboards, pulsing bass and percussion showcase his versatile creative genius.
Eventually, Lightning came to Tucson, Arizona to record vocals at AmoChip's Completely Bare Studios.
Lightning is delighted to bring his debut cd "Sweentess" to music fans.
Proud to be reaching a worldwide audience with his music and seeking performance venues to reach the masses.
