简介: Thirteen of the most popular versions of the most requested songs from the past seventeen years were selected from eight recordings, re mastered and assembled here on one CD. This recording also includes a brand new bonus track. I Know What Love Is: There are three recorded versions of this song (four if you include the Great Day DVD). This a capella version with vocal harmonies by Vox One is the one that has received the most air play. Rascal: A concert favorite recorded in Pontiac, Michigan in front of a very enthusiastic crowd. Be 16 with Me: This was actually recorded at the Festival of Funny Songwriters at the Somerville Theatre shortly after being written. It was invited at the last moment to the Live in Michigan album like a girlfriend to a family photo. Psycho Mom and Dad: Written from my children’s point of view when they were young and beginning to realize that their parents had lost their grip on reality. Brown Eyes Shine: A song that pleads the case for a father and daughter not to say anything to each other during the heat of the adolescent years that might be so hurtful that the sting of it lingers after the difficult days have passed. Little More Love: C F & G with a capo on the third fret. You can do it. MTV Love Song: This is my attempt at writing the ultimate unmarketable anti-pop song by deliberately disobeying every songwriting rule and unleashing upon the world a song with no chorus, no bridge, and three verses with three different emotional agendas. Ordinary Women and Men: A duet with my dear friend Maria Sangiolo from a time when grandchildren were a concept for pondering while imagining the distant future. Lijah: This shameful ballad of dog love and an ingeniously improvised animal chastity device still occasionally shows up in my live performances when I feel that the audience might be able to handle it or when I have decided that I never want to play a particular venue again. The Second Chance Crew: A cautionary tale from the ghosts of keg party past. Featuring The Loomers Angel in Pieces: A song of appreciation for the Angel Brigade who believe in the potential of the people they love when the people they love are not well enough to believe in themselves. Featuring The Loomers Great Day: Was written while I was recovering from an auto accident and inspired by my kids who would ask me what day it was and when I would say “Tuesday” they would say, “No,” and then sing, “It’s a great day to not be dead.” I’m from Lynn, What Can I Say: A particularly energized rendition of my loving homage to the town of my birth. Christmas Memories (Bonus Track): Here’s a tune to help you justify spending too much money during the holidays. Steve Sadler provides bass, dobro and backup vocals.
