简介: ORIENTE "A soulful ride filled with Jazz, Blues & Funk - Ignited by Afro-Latin roots & rhythms" An explosive celebration of melody, rhythm and soul, ORIENTE was formed in the ‘90s by Cuban guitarist, vocalist, composer and arranger Eddy Balzola. The band debuted at New Orleans’ premier jazz club, Snug Harbor, to an audience accustomed to very funky and progressive music. They created a big buzz with their signature hard-driving yet melodic Afro-Cuban roots innovations. That reception, along with the raw and organic music scene, remains an inspiration and continues to influence the band’s soulful sound & style, distinguishing ORIENTE from any other Latin Jazz group. Afro-Latin roots & rhythms meet jazz, blues and global influences, colored by Eddy’s creative arrangements, poetry and melodic guitar phrasing. The A-list lineup on "Soul eNclave", Oriente's 5th release, includes core band members Yoel Del Sol (Cuba) - multi-percussion/voc, Stuart King (Memphis, TN) - trumpet, William Paredes (Cuba) - trombone/voc, Dony Felix (Haiti) - bass/voc, Orlando Machado (Cuba) - trap drums/voc, and Rey Monroig (Puerto Rico) - trap drums. Very special additions include Jesse Jones, Jr. (Miami, FL) - alto sax, Felipe Lamoglia (Cuba) - soprano sax, Raymer Olalde (Cuba) - quinto, Randy Singer (Miami, FL) - harmonica and Holly Spillane (Hollywood, FL) - shekere, gamelan. "Soul eNclave" was recorded live in Miami at Dungeon Studio by Fred Freeman, and at Flavor Studios by Julio Lopez. Mixing and mastering by Cliff Rawnsley Studio.
