简介: This is the story of Little Richard's embracing religion at the time he was at the pinnacle of success as a rock and roll singer.
Unbelievable as it may appear, every word of it is as true as the gospel he preached.
Little Richard was the idol of all teenagers. A leader in rock & roll music having sold millions of records. His phenomenal success left him with wealth he could never imagine.
Little Richard was flying to Australia on tour. Suddenly, two motors on the transcontinental plane in which he was flying caught fire. It seemed inevitable that the plane and all its passengers were doomed. Little Richard, for the first time in a long time, got down on his knees and fervently prayed to God for salvation.
Suddenly, through the flames engulfing the aiplane, he saw a kindly vision looking at him. He asked for forgiveness for his sins and promised solemnly that if he were saved, he would become an exemplary Christian.
As if in answer to his prayers, the flames subsided and the plane landed safely in Australia.
At the airport, approximatelky 50,000 screaming teenagers were awaiting his arrival.
As Richard disembarked, he saw the large crowd in front of him and in the background a Church steeple. At that point, he made his choice. He went to his screaming fans and performed like he had never done before.
Little Richard forgot his prayers and the fact that he had made a solemn promise to the Lord.
After his tour ended, he got back on a plane to the United States.
Nearing their destination, the entire plane caught fire. His broken promise to God became a vivid reality.
Once again, through the flames he saw a vision. This time a wrathful one. Miraculously, the plane landed safely.
Little Richard immediately stripped himself of all his jewelry and valuable goods and threw them away.
He found happiness and fulfillment embracing his religion and God.
Production Note: These historic recordings were originally released in the early 1960's and have never been released in total on Compact Disc or Digital format. All recordings have been digitally remastered for this release.
