六天七夜 　　by Stephen Thomas ErlewineRandy Edelman's score for the Harrison Ford/Anne Heche romantic adventure Six Days, Seven Nights is relatively enjoyable, but it doesn't rank with his best work. Edelman continues composing and recording on synthesizers and electronic instruments, breaking with his traditional style only for the funky Caribbean rhythms that are supposed to signify the tropical island where Ford and Heche were plane-wrecked. The steel drums may be a Caribbean cliche, but they liven up Edelman's predictable score, especially during the languid "romantic" sections, and help make the album an enjoyable listen. Taj Mahal's Hawaiian blues "The Calypsonians" closes the soundtrack.
