简介: DELERIUM is a Canadian electronic band that formed in 1987, originally as a side project of the influential industrial music act Front Line Assembly. Over the past three decades DELERIUM, spearheaded by front man Bill Leeb, has presented a broad spectrum of styles, ranging from downtempo ambient trance and voiceless industrial soundscapes to electronic pop music, enlisting various vocalists, producers, musicians and collaborators. Primary producers and musicians Bill Leeb and Rhys Fulber worked for two years to create “Mythologie”, while delving further than ever before into new sounds and styles. DELERIUM is best known for their worldwide hit "Silence" with Sarah McLachlan. The single went to #1 in 5 countries and is touted as one of the greatest trance songs of all time. DELERIUM has worked with Tiesto, Niels van Gogh, Seven Lions, Airscape, Above and Beyond and a host of other prominent industry producers and remixers. After a long stay on Vancouver-based Nettwerk Music Group, this is the band’s first release on US label, Metropolis Records. Notable UK artist, Dave McKean, contributes a spectacular cover art image that evokes a quite fitting “romantically apocalyptic” image. McKean has worked extensively with Leeb on Front Line Assembly covers in the past, but this is the first time a DELERIUM album cover has been created by the well-known illustrator and graphic artist. Newcomers to the project are JES, Phildel, Mimi Page and Geri Soriano-Lightwood, while Jaël has previsouly appreared on several DELERIUM releases. Long-time DELERIUM contributor, Leah Randi, also returns with ambient and backing vocals on two tracks. Leah is a noted bass player and vocalist having performed live with DELERIUM, as well as Pink and Abandoned Pools. She has also contributed to recordings of Front Line Assembly, Paradise Lost, and Rhys Fulber’s Conjure One project as well. These songwriters each bring their distinctive attributes and talents to the album “Mythologie.” Stylistically unique in vocal range as well as musical influences, the lyricists seamlessly intertwine a common thread of etheral modern essence throughout each song. This 12-song album, that offers two instrumentals as well, blends DELERIUM’S signature ethereal sounds with a darker, modern edge giving listeners an intriguing and sophisticated sonic experience. Jaël, of the acclaimed Swiss band, Lunik, has had significant success in the Swiss music industry earning one platinum, two gold awards and several #1 hits with her band Lunik. Jaël’s first solo record "Shuffle The Cards,“ produced by Eliot James (Kaizer Chiefs, Noah and the Whale), entered the Swiss charts at #2 in 2015. Over the years Jaël has gained an international following featuring on songs by DELERIUM, Schiller, Mich Gerber and others. Her previous collaboration with DELERIUM, "After All (Svensen and Gielen Remix)“ went to #1 on the UK dance charts in 2003. Jaël’s spellbinding vocals and enchanting melodies bring an inspiring and unforgettable track to “Mythologie.”
