简介: by Tim GriggsThe Swingle Singers are amazing; however, on A Cappella Amadeus, a little bit goes a long way. The arrangements are flawless, and the execution is excellent; yet after awhile, the uniqueness of their performances wears thin and the tracks approach the level of novelty records, especially on the faster pieces. The slower pieces, such as "Cosi Fan Tutte: Un'aura amorosa" and "Piano Concerto No. 21: Andante" work beautifully. On the other hand, the "Horn Concerto No. 4: Finale" and "Piano Sonata in A Major: Finale, Alla Turca" sound silly and, in fact, would be appropriate music in a cartoon. Even though they are classically trained vocalists, the nature of the beast tends to make them sound like novelty artists.
