The energetic, sensational group ATARASHII GAKKO! is back with a Spanish version of their hit single Free Your Mind (Spanish Version). It is the group's first Spanish music endeavor!
After noticing a lot of support and encouragement from their Spanish fanbase on social media and getting to experience Latin culture influences in LA, the girls wanted to show appreciation to their Spanish speaking fans. Their producer, Money Mark (Beastie Boys), introduced the girls to his Mexican heritage, even doing "Taco Tuesdays" with them while recording.
With AG! not being Spanish speakers themselves, Money Mark reached out to his friend Denise Gutiérrez from the band Hello Seahorse! to help translate and adapt the original song into Spanish. From there, AG! transcribed the lyrics phonetically as pronunciation guides in Japanese. The song was recorded in hopes that it would reach every Spanish-speaking AG! fan, and that the lyrics would uplift anyone with a sad face or "cara triste".
