Leaving Warner Bros after the relative commercial failure ofHello Big Man, Carly Simon moved to the Epic label, which gave her the big-budget star treatment on the appropriately named Spoiled Girl. No less than eight producers labored over this, and they included such heavyweights asDon WasandPhil Ramone, although everyone from disco kingArthur Bakerto the team ofT-Bone WolkandG.E. Smith, late of theHall & Oatesband, got a shot. Simon's sales continued to slide, with the album topping out at number 88, and she and Epic parted company after only one release.
