This might be the best opportunity for music lovers to ensure that the work of an excellent French vocal group keeps a place in their collections. France EMI have produced this CD in 2002, reissuing recordings made between 1946 and 1962. Les Compagnons de la Chanson was an all male vocal group, usually comprising six or seven singers who sang unaccompanied. A principal tenor usually featured in the vocal arrangements, a most engaging and mellifluous singer. Additional singers were sometimes added, some with guitars. In two tracks here, Edith Piaf joins the group, in another they are joined by Les Petits Chanteurs a la Croix de Bois.
