Raimundo Fagner Candido Lopes (born in Oros, Ceara, October 13, 1949) is a Brazilian singer, composer, musician, actor and music producer. He is commonly known by the stage name Fagner. 　　The youngest of the five children of Jose Fares, Lebanese immigrant to Brazil, and Dona Francisca, Fagner was born in Fortaleza, the capital of the state of Ceara, although his birth was recorded in Oros. 　　At the age of five years he won a youth competition at a local radio station. As a teen, he formed vocal and instrumental groups and began to compose his own music. In 1968 he won the Festival de Musica Popular do Ceara (Popular Music Festival of Ceara) with his song "Nada Sou" (I am Nothing). In 1971 he recorded his first single compact in partnership with another Ceara, Wilson Cirino. GER was released by the label, not a huge success. The goal was to beat the record success of singers like Antonio Carlos and Jocafi. Also in 71 went to Rio de Janeiro, where Elis Regina recorded "Mucuripe" which became the first Fagner success as a songwriter and singer as well as recorded the same song on a compact disc series pocket, which had the other hand, Caetano Veloso singing "the Return of the White Wing." Contrary to what is said, and Caetano were never fully Fagner friends as you think. Caetano is an intellectual type who always distanced considered pop music (although TROPICALIA has launched the rock 'intellectual' in Brazil and South America) and Fagner already represented a Brazilian music rooted much more pop. the fight began on the day Caetano called his house, along with other guests, and refused to sing, claiming exhaustion. Fagner, early career, took up the guitar, did a show successive times and was applauded by the guests. Caetano had a fit of jealousy and frowned. The situation deteriorated further when, later, Caetano turned his back on Fagner when he talked to Nara Leaao, placing himself between the two. Fagner never set foot again in the house of Bahia, Ceara publicly tacked that a bad writer and bad character, and only refers to it as "chicken droppings". 　　Other works, like their fourth album, Oros, 1977, an album that had arrangements and musical direction by Hermeto Pascoal, show a more unconventional and less concerned with commercial success. Closing the 1970, released two more albums: I Canto (1978) with another poem by Cecilia Meireles - "Reason", music by Fagner and no claims of the poet, and Beauty (1979). Fagner was considered by the readers of Playboy magazine, the best singer in the year 1979, second was Roberto Carlos (King of Latin music). 　　In the 1980s Fagner kept the northeastern side, and was divided at the same time with romanticism. The first LP of the 1980s was Eternal Waves, which was instrumental in the Ze Ramalho, Dominguinhos, Nana Vasconcelos, and many others. In this same disc, Fagner made a version with the help of Frederick Mendes, the classic John Lennon and Yoko Ono "Oh My Love" from the album Imagine 1971. Taking advantage of the height of his career Fagner in the Continental label released the album Together - Fagner and Melchior, a compilation containing tracks from the album Hail Night, the single Fagner released by Continental. Polydor, in turn, replaced the disc for sale Manera Fru Fru Manera. In 1981, he recorded the album Fagner Translate is a major milestone in his career, which included the track to translate ( A part of me is everyone: no other party is: background no background ..) He won prizes in other categories with additional pieces, as well. 　　He has had a distinguished career as a performer, singer, songwriter and composer for over 3 decades, and is also known for his collaborations with other MPB artists such as Caetano Veloso, Roberta Miranda, Chico Buarque, and others. 　　In 2003 Fagner was prosecuted for plagiarism: his song As Penas do Tie appeared to have the same music and lyrics that one of earlier Brazilian composer Hekel Tavares. In recent times, has been considered one of the greatest composers of the Spanish language (accomplishment achieved by several Brazilian singers), through its affiliations with non-Latin musicians such as Argentina Mercedes Sosa (Anos (in English Years). 　　In November 2014, Fagner released a collaborative live album with singer and acoustic guitarist Ze Ramalho, entitled Fagner & Ze Ramalho ao Vivo.
