Chris Camozzi was born in 1957 in San Mateo, California to musical parents. By the age of 7 he was playing guitar, singing and performing at local events. At the age of 10 he was the lead guitarist and vocalist for his own band, appearing on television, radio and at theme parks from Marine World to Knotts Berry Farm. His high school years led him to the top guitar spot in the honored "Professionals of Tomorrow" jazz band which has spawned such artists as NeiISchoen (Joumey) and Michael Shrieve (Santana). Due to his extended involvement in orchestra, jazz band and choir, Chris received the outstanding musicanship award and placement in the nationally published book "Who's Who in American High School Music". After school he hit the road playing the Reno, Tahoe, Las Vegas circuit where he picked up the bass, synthesizers and drums as secondary instruments. Chris returned to the Bay Area to join Marty Balin the ex-lead vocalist of the Jefferson Starship. After this he free-lanced backing up such artists as the Smothers Brothers, Bobby Vinton, Maureen McGovern and Diane Caroll. Chris then turned his energies towards the recording studio and soon became a busy session musician playing on radio and T.V. commercials for Pacific Bell, Safeway, Clorox, Hunt/Wesson, Bordens, Olympic Stain, Levi's and Taco Bell. Along with doing jingles he appeared on albums by George Benson, Whitney Houston, Yoko Oginome, Pia Zadora, Michael Bolton, Mariah Carey, Barbara Streisand, Regina Belle, Pheobe Snow, and Clarence Clemons along with performances on the soundtracks of the major motion pictures Fast Forward (Sidney Poitier) and Tap (Gregory Hines). Leaving the security of the studio world Chris joined ulti-platinum Columbia recording artist Michael Bolton for a tour of the US and Canada. Upon his return he was asked to be the lead guitarist for Mariah Carey. He has appeared with her on Saturday Night Live, The Tonight Show and The Grammy Awards Show. Between his busy recording and touring schedule Chris still makes time to write and produce his own music. Presently he is working on his solo guitar project, along with collaborating on original popular songs with some of L.A.'s successful songwriters. Future plans for Chris will include working on promotions and seminars for his equipment sponsors - D'Addario Strings,Ibanez Guitars, Mesa Boogie Amplifiers, and Seymour Duncan Pick-ups.
