EMMY-nominated composer Tony Morales has traversed the worlds of drama, animation, comedy and documentary for both television and film. This year has seen the release of the second season of his hit CBS TV show SCORPION (co-composed with Brian Tyler), the sports documentary FASTBALL (director Jonathan Hock, narrated by Kevin Costner), and his fourth season providing the music for the Discovery Channel’s ALASKA: THE LAST FRONTIER. Morales is also the composer for the upcoming Disney animated series ELENA OF AVALOR (set to debut the summer of 2016). Morales began his career as a staff composer within the commercial music division of Hans Zimmer’s Media Ventures in 1998. As an additional music arranger, he found himself working with and learning from some of the top film composers including John Debney, Harry Gregson-Williams and Brian Tyler, contributing to such scores as IRON MAN 3, FAST FIVE, UNSTOPPABLE, THE TOWN, and THE CHANGE-UP. Since that time, he has gone on to compose numerous scores for film and television including the 2015 Netflix series BLOODLINE (co-composed with Edward Rogers), IN YOUR EYES (written by Joss Whedon), the short ROCKY AND BULLWINKLE (DreamWorks Animation), ENEMIES CLOSER (starring Jean-Claude Van Damme), and HIDE AWAY (official selection of the 2011 SXSW Film Festival). In 2012 Morales earned his first EMMY nomination with the mini-series HATFIELDS & McCOYS (co-composed with John Debney). A guitar player since the age of six, music has always been a part of Morales’ life. After an adolescence spent playing in a series of unfortunately named bands, he retired his Flying V and turned to the world of film music. Morales holds a degree in film scoring from the renowned Berklee College of Music. He relocated to Los Angeles to attend USC’s Advanced Studies in Film Scoring program where he still resides.
