With a voice that leaves a lasting impression with its deep emotion and energy, recording artist/songwriter Liz Madden is a classically trained vocalist who comes from a family heritage that is steeped in traditional Irish music. Liz brings a gift to every performance and lives to pour her soul into her music. Primarily a Celtic-Folk singer, no genre can completely encapsulate Liz as her voice and songwriting skills cross a canvas of styles from celtic, folk, world to Jazz and pop music. Her recording career has spanned fifteen years and to date she has recorded nine albums: four solo albums, a world music album as part of Shishonnah, a jazz album with Guitarist Nigel Clark, and three albums as part of Rua. Globally Liz's compositions and vocals have featured on over sixty compilation albums and have been used in Film, TV and Theatre.
Liz has headlined events such as the Festival Interceltique de Lorient, the 7th Folk and Art Festival China, Lisdoonvarna Festival, Feile Bride Festival and the World Music Festival Israel, where she performed with the R'annana orchestra. Liz was honoured to be the only performer invited to perform at the inaugural Nobel Women's Initiative Conference for an audience from over eighty countries, including five of the Nobel Peace Laureates. Most recently she performed with Shishonnah and the Elgin Children's Chorus for the Emerald Voices Show in Chicago, along with performing a number of other shows in the USA and Ireland which included The Moat Theatre and The Trickster Gallery with a special appearance by Native American artist Joe Yazzi.
An accomplished musical theatre performer, Liz previously performed as a lead performer touring with the Drawing Room Opera Company, along with lead roles in Sondheim's 'Side by Side', and the musical review cabaret 'Whine Women and Song' in the USA. Liz has been a vocal teacher for over fifteen years, teaching workshops and private classes, and during this time she prepared hundreds of students for performances, exams and auditions.
Liz has been involved in various charity work for many years. She has performed at events/released songs for Bee for Battens, Children in Crossfire, The Mannix Appeal, Chernobyl Children International and the Children’s Variety Club of Ireland. She was actively involved with her local and federal government in the creation of better housing for low income families in Arkansas where she used to reside. Most recently Liz completed her first book 'Letters from The Ancients' and a script adaptation of 'Finding Neverland' for Westside Productions. Liz has just completed her fourth solo album entitled 'My Immortal Love' which has just been released in Asia and Europe along with a new jazz album with world renowned jazz guitarist Nigel Clark(Hue & Cry, Carol Kidd, Koshko).
Liz is currently back in studio working on three new projects due for release in 2014/2015.
