Ady Suleiman (born 1 July 1992) is a UK singer-songwriter from Nottingham who works in the R&B, hip-hop and reggae genres.   Ady (of half English, half Tanzanian descent) started writing music at the age of 14.   He was first spotted by BBC Introducing’s Dean Jackson who played his track ‘Running Away’ on BBC Nottingham, before Huw Stephens debuted on Radio 1. Following the play, the track shot into the Top 20 on the Shazam chart, and attracted the attention of the music industry.   The then 22 year old went on to support the likes of Laura Mvula, Michael Kiwanuka, Professor Green and Lianne Le Havas, performed at Glastonbury and Bestival, before going to pick up a ‘Breakthrough Act of the Year’ award at Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide Awards.   Ady signed to Sony Music, via his own label imprint, Pemba Records, named after his father’s birth place, in 2014.
