The Scottish tenor, Jamie Macdougall, won scholarships to both the Guildhall School of Music and the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and was a finalist of the Kathleen Ferrier Singing Competition.
Jamie Macdougall made his debut with the English National Opera singing the role of Odoardo and covering Lurcanio in George Frideric Handel's Ariodante. Other operatic roles include Peter Quint in Benjamin Britten's The Turn of the Screw for Pimlico Opera; Gluck's Alceste for the English Bach Festival in Monte Carlo and Covent Garden; First Shepherd and Apollo in Monteverdi's Orfeo in Granada with Nicholas Kraemer. He has also sung Acis in Acis and Galatea and Comus in Purcell's King Arthur in concert performances with The English Concert under Trevor Pinnock, recorded for DG/Archiv.
