Simon P. Castonguay is a Montreal based composer of instrumental music working in the world of theatre and cinema. His approach to composition and recording is intuitive, organic and visual, and involves acoustic instruments and a minimal use of electronics. Simon's music is described by his listeners as lively, detailed and cinematic, and has been performed internationally in the ambient and instrumental music scenes. 　　Tambour is Castonguay's primary musical project. His work is the result of extensive research in minimalist and neo-classical movements. His meticulous compositions build a dreamy yet uplifting narrative atmosphere. He has previously released a full length LP under the name projet.hertz (2013) and three EPs as Tambour entitled Chapitre I (2015), Chapitre II (2016) and Constellations (ou comment arrêter le temps) (2019) with the label Moderna Records. 　　Last year, Simon presented a new single entitled "Silhouettes". The release was accompanied by a video / short film co-produced with Telescope Films. He is currently preparing his first full album which should be released in 2020.
