“When it rains it pours, but it can’t pour forever.” Those words are the driving motivation behind Jazzy Amra’s journey thus far. Born and raised in New York City, 19 year-old Jazzy’s earliest memories of music revolved around her mother singing to her, classic songs such as R. Kelly’s “I Believe I Can Fly,” The Fugees’ “Killing Me Softly,” and Toni Braxton’s “Unbreak My Heart.” Growing up in unimaginable circumstances with her siblings, and placed in foster care and eventually a foster family, Jazzy’s life changed for the better at the age of five, when her aunt adopted her.
