With his moody and melodic brand of R&B tinged Pop, Drama Relax takes his name from the powerful tension at the heart of each song. “There's a lot of drama in my life but I handle it in a very relaxed manner,” explains the Long Island-bred singer/songwriter/producer. “In my music I try to paint a picture of what's going on in my relationships, in a way that's honest but still feels good, with that laid-back vibe and energy to it.” 　　Recorded in his bedroom, the lead single from Drama Relax’s upcoming debut project, “Private” brings that dynamic to a dreamy midtempo track capturing all the thrill and confusion of a secret relationship. Along with showing off his agile flow and introspective lyrics, “Private” merges its thick beat and airy textures with the graceful precision he’s honed by producing his own music. Drama Relax reveals the subtle brilliance behind his instinct-driven creative process. “I never write lyrics down—I never have.” “Once I get that first line figured out, that's really all I need. I just build it up from there, and it carries the whole song the rest of the way.” 　　Drama's main mission is to help others to sort out their own overwhelming feelings. “I tend to overthink everything, and there are definitely negatives and positives to that,” he says. “But my goal with my music is to use that to help people understand the situations they're going through. If you can have that awareness and that perspective, it makes everything so much better in the long run.”
