Michael Ian Olmo (born March 25, 1999), known professionally as Iann Dior (stylized as iann dior), is a Puerto Rican-American rapper, singer, and songwriter currently signed to Internet Money Records, TenThousand Projects and Caroline Records. He is best known for his songs "Emotions", "Romance361", "Problems", "gone girl", and "18", all of which have received millions of plays on Spotify.
Early life
Michael Ian Olmo was born on March 25, 1999 in the Arecibo area of Puerto Rico. He moved to Corpus Christi, Texas at a young age, where he grew up for most of his early life. He is the son of a Navy Veteran.
Career
Dior originally started making music under the mononym Olmo. He would later change his name to Iann Dior in late 2018, after being discovered by music producers Nick Mira and Taz Taylor of Internet Money Records. He quickly gained popularity upon releasing tracks such as "Emotions", which gained hundreds of thousands of plays on SoundCloud within a few weeks.
Dior's songs continued to grow attention thereafter, and he signed a record deal with Internet Money Records, TenThousand Projects and Caroline Records. Just a few months later, he released his most well-known single "Gone Girl", featuring Trippie Redd, which has received over 100 million plays on Spotify. He released his Nothings Ever Good Enough mixtape in May 2019, later followed by his debut studio album, Industry Plant in November 2019. His next release, I'm Gone, was released on June 12, 2020, and was preceded by three singles, including the Lil Baby-assisted "Prospect".
